The most-asked questions before ordering
The plan is exactly the same (070 prefix, no KYC, 3GB/month high-speed in Japan and 1GB/month abroad, first year included). There are only two differences:
① Physical SIM — we mail you a card, free ZTO shipping, 2–4 days to your door. Works with any phone; just insert it.
② eSIM — no waiting for delivery; once payment is confirmed, support sends the install QR code via WeChat and you can install it the same day. But it works only with overseas phones that have native eSIM and cannot be written to "blank" cards like esim.me / 5ber.
Not sure? Buy the physical SIM — it has no device restrictions.
Mainland-China models won't work. Handsets sold in mainland China (iPhone and Android) don't expose eSIM at the system level, so it can't be installed — a device limitation, not a problem with the card.
Overseas models work with eSIM; common ones include:
· HK / US / JP / EU iPhone (iPhone XS and later)
· Google Pixel (Pixel 3 and later, eSIM-capable models)
· Other international Android phones explicitly listed as eSIM-capable (some Samsung, Motorola, etc.)
How to check: on iPhone, look under Settings → General → About for "Available eSIM" or "Digital SIM"; on Android, look under Settings → Network & internet → SIM for an "Add eSIM / Download a SIM" option. If you don't see it, eSIM isn't supported — buy the physical SIM instead.
Note: cannot be written to "blank" cards. Our install code cannot be written to writable physical cards like esim.me or 5ber; it can only be installed on a phone's native eSIM. If you don't have an overseas phone with native eSIM, buy the physical SIM — it has no device restrictions.
Not sure? Add support on WeChat before ordering and send your phone model — we'll confirm for you.
No. The eSIM install code we send can only be installed directly onto a phone's native eSIM; it cannot be written to writable "blank" cards such as esim.me or 5ber. Please don't buy and then try to write the card — a failed write is not covered by refunds.
So if you don't have an overseas phone with native eSIM (mainland-China models don't count), we recommend buying the physical SIM — the plan is identical to eSIM and works with any phone; just insert it.
The eSIM install code is a one-time digital product and cannot be refunded once issued. So before ordering, please confirm your phone is an overseas original model that supports eSIM (it can't be written to "blank" cards) — ask support if unsure, or buy the physical SIM instead.
If the install code we issued is itself faulty (can't activate, already used, etc.), we'll replace it or give a full refund.
Refers to the physical SIM: shipped nationwide, free ZTO by default, normally 2–4 days; at checkout you can choose SF Express fast (+¥23) or economy (+¥18). The card is a standard 3-in-1 (Standard / Micro / Nano), fitting most phones and dual-SIM devices.
No shipping for eSIM: once payment is verified, support sends the install QR code via WeChat, usually the same day.
After you place an order the page shows a payment QR code (WeChat / Alipay); scan and pay, then add me on WeChat and send a payment screenshot to verify — shipping is arranged once confirmed.

What to do after receiving the card · what it can do
No activation needed. This card is plug-and-play in supported countries and regions: insert it → turn on Data Roaming → wait for it to connect. Most phones configure network settings automatically; if you need to enter the APN manually, ask support for the parameters. See the setup guide.
No. This is a prepaid card — no ID or real-name verification (KYC) is needed to activate or use it; just insert and go. Because there's no KYC, it can't be used as a verified Japanese number and isn't suitable where a carrier real-name contract is required.
No. This is a data + SMS-receiving card: it supports data and receiving SMS only — no outgoing or incoming calls and no outgoing SMS. If you need calls, this card isn't for you; please contact support before ordering.
3GB of high-speed data per month inside Japan and 1GB outside. Past the cap you stay connected but drop to a low-speed network, text chat only — maps and video are effectively unusable.
Receives SMS codes for registering overseas services like Claude, ChatGPT and PayPal. Note that some platforms block certain number ranges, so 100% success isn't guaranteed. This card is for travel use only; please comply with local laws and use it for lawful purposes only.
No. It's plug-and-play in supported countries and regions, with 1GB of high-speed data per month outside Japan (3GB inside Japan).
A Japanese 070-prefix mobile number; international format +81 70 ××××××××. The number is printed on the card packaging.
When it starts counting and what to do at expiry
Valid for 12 months from the month of first use. Example: first used in January 2026, expires January 31, 2027 (month of use + 12 months). If you don't use the card, the validity won't start ticking.
No. The card fee covers the card and all usage for 12 months — no monthly fee, no activation fee, no add-on charges.
We'll reach out a month before expiry; choose either method:
① Renew through us — ¥289 for a year, pay via WeChat / Alipay; contact the "Support" widget at the bottom right (recommended);
② Renew on the official site yourself — fitsimmarket.benefitjapan.co.jp, billed in JPY and needs an overseas payment method; price as listed there.
Renewing the same card keeps the same number. See Pricing & Renewal.
